VDL is the first listed company on the Growth Enterprise Market in Kaizhou District, Chongqing. The company has won honors such as National High-tech Enterprise, National Specialized and Innovative Little Giant, and Excellent Private Enterprise in Chongqing.

In 2011, Chongqing VDL Company was established in Kaizhou Chongqing  and began to engage in the research and manufacturing of lithium-polymer batteries. In 2017, the company headquarters relocated to Kaizhou Chongqing. In 2023, the annual sales of lithium-ion batteries is exceed 200 million pcs. At present, the company has nearly 5000 employees and achieved a total operating revenue of 487 million yuan in the first half of 2024.
